1 April 2021: This is not a joke. City Books will re-open to foot traffic on Saturday, April 24, Independent Bookstore Day. New business hours will be Wednesday-Sunday 11 AM – 5 PM, Tuesday by appointment only.

For the duration of the pandemic, properly worn masks and occupancy requirements will remain in place. We have installed an Austin Air Filter (Medical Grade HEPA technology proven to remove up to 95% of all airborne contaminants as small as 0.1 microns). When weather permits, we will keep our front doors open during business hours. Online shopping with a pick-up option will remain permanent features of our business plan.

We prefer that customers pay with credit card or Venmo, but cash will be accepted at the register.

We will continue to sell new books online through our Bookshop virtual storefront and used books via Instagram (@citybookspgh) with curbside pick or Media Mail delivery. For City Books branded merchandise and books by local writers, please visit our Shop Small page on this website.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have about visiting City Books.
