Layaway is available for select collectible and antique books/sets priced at or over $135 to be determined exclusively by City Books. Customers must be at least 18 years old to participate.
A Layaway Agreement is required.
Payments must be made in US dollars via cash, credit card, PayPal, or Venmo. Personal checks will not be accepted.
The initial deposit (a NON-REFUNDABLE minimum of 20%, plus 7% PA sales tax) will be collected and noted in the Layaway Agreement. In accordance with Pennsylvania law, sales tax on the total purchase price is due with the initial deposit. (Sales tax payments are NON-REFUNDABLE and cannot be credited under any circumstances because they are payable to the State up front whether or not the Agreement is later cancelled or forfeited.)
The remaining balance must be paid in equal installments over the approved layaway period not to exceed 90 days unless otherwise arranged at the time of contract. These amounts and their due dates will be noted in the Agreement.
