Sam Allen

Sam Allen is a retired librarian, historian, and author of the one-man show Fire and Ice: The World of Robert Frost, a dramatization of the writer’s life and poetry. Frost is the only poet to have won four Pulitzer Prizes. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in 1960, spoke at John F. Kennedy’s inauguration, later becoming the Poet Laureate of Vermont in 1961. Sam’s interest in Frost began in high school, but it wasn’t until after retirement that Sam developed his theatrical presence as one of America’s most revered poets. He began his traveling show in 2011 and he has presented throughout the mid-Atlantic from Washington DC to Cleveland. He is based in Beaver Falls.
