Covers are kraft paper-covered boards bound with brown tape. Inside the back cover is a library pocket to store clippings or book reviews, and a library card to use as a bookmark or to keep track of who has borrowed a book. Page data allows the reader to track bibliographic information as well as reading dates, DNR notes, recommendation quality, and lending status.

Dimensions: 6.25″ x 4.25″. The journal is thin enough to carry in a pocket or day bag and fits well in the palm of the hand. It has 36 double-sided pages.
