This year marks the 5th anniversary of IBD and we are making a full weekend out of it: Friday, April 26-Sunday, April 28.
Join us Friday, April 26 at 7 PM when we host Notes & Words: A Fiction Songfest featuring Guy Capecelatro III, Chris Leone, and Sherrie Flick. Seating is limited to 30 for this intimate, acoustic event. Learn more about Guy, Chris, and Sherrie here.
Then, after our extended daytime hours (11 AM – 5 PM) on Saturday, April 27, we will debut our new micro gallery iamb@citybooks with an art opening featuring the photography of Elan Mizrahi. The event will run from 7-8:30 PM. Light refreshments will be served while supplies last. If you can’t make it to the bookstore during the day, you can still support your local independent bookstore in the evening — and have dessert while looking at mesmerizing Cuban street photography.
In addition to special discount pricing for Mother’s Day gift bags, we’ll debut the new City Books Reader’s Journal, a store-designed notebook by Pittsburgh bookbinder Vince Curtis. These petite, 60-page journals will organize a year or more worth of reading, and keep review clippings in a handy library pocket inside the back cover. If you are, or someone you know is, a serious reader, this is the reader’s journal dreams are made of.
As always, we also be open Sunday, April 28 from 12-5 PM with continued IBD pricing, just in case you can’t make it Friday or Saturday. The gallery will be open during regular business hours.
