6 July 2020: City Books will reopen on a limited basis to the public on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. For the time being, we will be open ONLY on Wednesdays & Saturdays from 12-5 PM. For the safety of ourselves & our customers, strict health modifications will remain in place until further notice.
MASKS ARE REQUIRED; if a customer cannot wear a mask for medical reasons, concierge service will be provided while the individual waits outside.
Hand sanitizer will be provided for use upon entry to and exit from the store.
Customers may handle books, but having done so, will need to place books on a special table so they can be sanitized before being reshelved.
We have reconfigured the layout of the store in order to enforce a MINIMUM of 6 ft. between customers. Movement through the bookstore is now ONE WAY. We ask that shoppers adhere to the floor markings we have provided. We are limiting the occupancy to 2 browsers at one time.
We will not be using our air conditioning this summer. As a result, the bookstore may be quite warm. Similarly, our bathroom facilities are now for employees only. Please be aware of this and plan accordingly.
NO CASH will be accepted at the register. We ask that customers pay with credit card, Venmo, or PayPal when checking out. Approach to the cash register is now ONE WAY.
We will continue to sell books online via our Instagram account–and offer curbside pick or Media Mail delivery.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have about visiting City Books.
