Fable Book Club

City Books is now a Featured Book Club on Fable

I’m excited to announce that Fable is launching Shelf Life with City Books, a Featured Book Club on the new social media app for readers who want to come together and talk about specific books, chapter by chapter, at their own pace. The app is available for free via the App Store and Google Play.

Fable is free at the Featured Club level, so If you have your own copy of the book, from Bookshop.org or Libro.fm, you can still read along and comment. But if not, and you want to download it as an eBook, you can do that right in the app for a small fee—and City Books would get a portion of the sale price. (We made less than $2.00 last year; it’s not a big money maker for us!)

There are some other perks of downloading the book from the app. For instance, you can highlight a passage to share in the discussion thread or create a tile of that quote for Instagram. It’s a fun feature, but not a requirement for participation.

(Premium content from LeVar Burton, Sean Astin, among others, is available for a yearly subscription, if you are so inclined.)

Give Fable a try at the free-member level and see what you think. If you have any user issues, let me know and, if I can’t answer them for you, I will find someone who can!
